Thank a republican for higher taxes.

    • Anonymous

Someone has got to pay for the Presidents drones and hellfire missiles. I am surprised there are still people who think the republicans are to blame for not continuing the republican tax breaks????
Anyway, we are just a bunch of stupid sheep.

Ahh, more liberal drivel. Still can’t get past the GWB derangement syndrome? Haven’t you got to sue someone about a mural?

    • Anonymous

It was Republican who lowered the taxes in the first place, it is a Democratic President and Senate who want to raise them. It is also a Democratic President and Senate who have refused to pass any kind of budget for the past several years, even though it is their constitutional duty to do so.

      • Anonymous

Excellent point James! Hard to dispute the facts.

        • Rusjan

They are easy to dispute, when one doesn’t know how it is done, federally. You should inform yourself. It’s easy to post on FB that “the US Senate hasn’t passed a budget since Obama was elected”, yet, the Senate cannot pass one without the US House agreeing on one. Nor can the US House pass one without agreement from the Senate………..so, take responsibility where it lies, not where you want it to be.

          • Anonymous

James_63 was right. We all know how it works.

          • Anonymous

            Excellent point rusjan!
            Hard to dispute the facts.

          • Anonymous

Democrats didn’t pass a budget even when they had a super majority,

      • Rusjan

WRONG! There has been no congressional budget passed since 1995. In order for a congressional budget to be passed, both houses must agree on a budget, they have not. An Executive (President) cannot sign a budget unless there is one in front of him. Bill Clinton was the last President to sign a budget, approved by both the House and Senate. Protocol James,….you should know what you’re talking about.

Lets assume your married do you try to save money by spending your wifes and does she spend all the money you both earn and neither of you discuss it even though you live under one roof?

And thank a democrat for the cacophony of witheringly complex taxes that exist in this day age to be raised at all.

        Lobbyists wrote our tax code.

It’s George Bush’s fault. Always has been, always will be. Way to toe the line.

      • Anonymous

George who? We never talk about George Who.

      • Anonymous

“toe” the line, or mark. From the British.means to conform to others already standing on the line.

        • Anonymous

Now correct thanks to Tux_Katz!! Thanks for the lesson :)

    • Anonymous

Specking as one who wants to raise the taxes on others, Right?

    • Anonymous

Does NE stand for “Not Educated?” Unless the taxocrats cut spending (not just decrease the rate of increase) by about 30%, we all will be paying higher taxes, well actually only about half of us who actually pay, or the deficit will climb even more. Liberal democrats are like teenagers with their first credit card. Fun until the loan needs to be repaid.

      • Anonymous

Since you asked – it is for New England and don’t be rude. Beyond that, I don’t understand your comment. Do you want higher taxes for the middle class? I don’t.

The rich can pay their fair share and don’t worry about them, there will always be rich people. In case you doubt it take a drive around Kennebunkport, Cape E., Camden or any other rich town. No one in any of those towns will lose their homes with the new tax rates. And, they are not “job creators”. They are rich people who invest their money all over the place, including countries that take away US jobs.

As for spending: let’s start with corporate welfare and a bloated defense budget that includes a lot of things that the DOD does not want. These are put into the DOD budget as pork by Washington, particularly the GOP. Lastly, the biggest spenders in DC were Reagan and W. That’s a fact! It really is.

  • zach fossett

I’ll be going down for the rest of the slide while the rest of you harvest the gold.

We are now in an age where folks have got to realize the more they do the more will be taken away. Earn less and qualify for more, then maybe after a few years folks might wake up?

    • Scott Harriman

I’ve always thought it was strange that the more people work the more they get taxed.

A fairer way to generate revenue would be to tax consumption — eliminate the income tax and institute a national sales tax.

      • Anonymous

As the income increases the use of government services increases. I pay something toward Maine’s airports and shipping ports every time I pay my income and gas tax. I never used a shipping port, nor an airport.

We have actually started wars, assassinated duly elected foreign leaders, and stolen land from other sovereign Nations so the wealthy can continue to make money.

A consumption tax? Gee that’s a good idea. The people on the bottom would pay 100% of that while the wealthy would travel to off shore islands to make their large purchases.

        • Anonymous

You have never bought something brought in by a shipping port? Ever drive a gasoline driven auto or do you get around by bicycle? Much of the gasoline and heating oil burned in this State comes in by port. Never used an airport? Never had a single friend or family member come to visit via plane? Sad.

        • Scott Harriman

That’s no different than the current situation where the wealthy shuffle their income to offshore bank accounts to avoid paying taxes on it.

That loophole should be fixed, whether we have an income tax or a sales tax.

  • Anonymous

All in the name of “fairness”! I guess the 26 k in taxes I normally pay isn’t enough.

    • Anonymous

You have to earn less and do less. I know it is hard…but you are not going to get anywhere…it will just be taken from you.

      • Anonymous

Gee isn’t that what the people paying 26K in taxes have been telling the workers for years?

Gee guys, I can’t afford your lower-middle class wage anymore , because Chinese guys will work for $14 a week.

    • Anonymous

If you pay $26k in taxes you are either a fool, or you have enough capital to move to the Caymans and pay nothing. Don’t let the door hit you.

      • Anonymous

There goes that downtrodden mentality again. Yes ther is such a thing as making good money and not trying to hide it like a lot do. I don’t want to be bothered in sheltering it in apartments or small business. Government has made it too much of a hassle. And I was born and raised here so no, I won’t be letting the ” door hit me” because I choose to stay here, smothered in Marxism and all.

        • Anonymous

You think we have “Marxism” here?

Anyway thanks for your contribution. If you plan to keep making it it must be profitable for you to do so….since you are obviously NOT a Marxist.

No not yet but we have a lot of well wishers for that style of gov.

When you takers drive away the makers, who will pay for your socialist utopia?

  • Anonymous

Also Matthew really needs to investigate what exactly is going to happen with Medicare under Obamneycare. I mean….I have been posting on it for months now?
The same thing the President criticized Romney over is exactly what he is going to do? You didn’t know that?

    • Bertha Gruntz

Obamneycare? LOL I love it. Well done. That’s what he does though. Remember all the criticism of GW? Gitmo? He ended up changing nothing. Corruption in Washington is not party specific. We truly have no one representing us in Washington. They have become the ruling party and we’re all screwed. They get richer and the rest of us pay, pay, pay.

      • Anonymous

If you “love it” you do not know what it is.

lower middle class communities well lose doctors, and the talented will move to places like Westchester County New York, Bergan County New Jersey, and Beverly Hills where they do not need to take a 30% pay cut to practice.

  • Anonymous

    And a socialist in a pear treeeeeeee……

    • Rusjan

you’re pathetic…..Why would you say that? What makes you think that people are not thinking the same way about you, when you say something as absurd as that? Only they wouldn’t be calling you a socialist, they would be calling you a fascist.

      • Anonymous

The difference clearly being that I have never suggested anything remotely close to what could be considered “fascist” in nature, whereas Obama and his administration have not only suggested such things that are socialist, they are often card-carrying socialists themselves who make no bones about their position. Pretty simple

    • Anonymous

      Strange, very strange.

    • Anonymous

I’m not opposed to socialism. Some of the worlds wealthiest folks live (and pay taxes) in socialist countries. You need to learn a new song.

      • Anonymous

And thousands of them are fleeing socialist France right now. When you takers drive away all the makers, who will pay for your socialist utopia?

          Meanwhile, our glorious spender-in-chief just gave what amounts to a raise for all federal employees and congress;

          http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/28/obama-pay-raise-congress_n_2377714.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

          • Anonymous

Feds haven’t had a raise since 2010, Congress since 2009. Feds are getting 0.5-1.0%. Most of Congress will get $900 extra per year.
            (military, btw, is getting 1.7%)

People with valuable skills in the federal workforce aren’t going to stick around forever at 2010 pay. Just like a business, you have to pay to keep good folks.

          • Anonymous

            Seriously?

Our economy is falling into the toilet, and all you can do is praise glorious federal workers?

Contrary to the liberal SEIU position, we can’t all work for the government.

          • Anonymous

I’m not a government worker, but you lose me when you attack the union.

I happen to agree with you that we have too many workers at the Federal and State level, but this has to do more with nepotism, and special interests feathering their own nests.

Here in Maine we have a huge social service provider network many different agencies some doing competitive work, and all fed by the taxpayers. None of them union. They do almost nothing positive for the chunk of money they extort from the State.

They were also my sole reason for voting for LePage.

          • Anonymous

And the unions that you seem to support will be the reason that Lepage is defeated in the next election.

There should be a total outright ban on public service unions because of the scenario we have watched play out over the past thirty years.

          • Anonymous

Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose.

I would no more take away a worker’s right to unionize than I would take away your right to speak.

This time we’ll have to agree to disagree.

          • Anonymous

There’s something wrong with a government that votes for it’s own raises !

          • Anonymous

Except they did not vote themselves a raise. Obungle signed an executive order creating it.

          • Anonymous

The pay raise did not go through.

          • Anonymous

The Hawaiian tried to get it through.
Thats more than enough for me to say Enough !

          • Anonymous

            It certainly did!

          • Anonymous

So, just for the sake of argument – how would you design the system? Who would be able to authorize a pay raise?

Also, of course, Congress didn’t vote for a pay raise. POTUS authorized it by executive order. The Senate, in fact, last night voted against a pay raise. I assume that the house bill will include identical language when it votes Tuesday or Wednesday.

          • beithe

I do appreciate the Unions. For that reason alone.

          • Anonymous

Why do predict LePage is going to be defeated next election? I believe him to be a man of his own principles and the independent thinking Maine Voter will judge him fairly on election day. Please do not cast our voting system as being dysfunctional or unfair. We voted him in and if he holds to our standards and expectations we’ll re-elect him…. or not.

          • Anonymous

LePage is a man of ALEC’s principles. He has none of his own.

          • Anonymous

oh yes we can more and more each year … We need the Tea Party Now!!
Lets all get togather and change back to what was the greatest Country in the world not a third world has been..it up to us!!

          • Anonymous

Neither agreeing or disagreeing with you. The biggest stimulation of Maine’s economy is coming from the Federal Worker’s Social Welfare Program. Their pay checks stimulate our economy every two weeks provided they spend it locally and not horde it.

          • Anonymous

People with valuable skills in the federal workforce aren’t going to stick around forever at 2010 pay? My guess is that they are. Trying to find a job in the private sector is tough now, and I don’t see it getting better soon.

          • Anonymous

And you call that a bad thing???????

          • Anonymous

My company hasn’t given anyone a raise in 3 years. While I don’t like it at least I still have a job.

          • Anonymous

Oh , and where will they go ?

          • Anonymous

Exactly. Where else can you work 40 hours a week with benefits, air conditioned offices and retire after 25 years… only for the government.

          • Anonymous

Many don’t retire…. they collect a pension and then return as contractors (swinging door). However, as corrupt as the system may be, it does provide FEDERAL Stimulation of Maine’s economy provided the pay checks are spent locally and not horded. A welfare system but a most effective one.

          • Anonymous

that story has been around for 40 years ..we gave them more money and they gave us the shaft!!

          • Anonymous

That $900 extra per year is far, far more than the vast majority of workers in the private sector have gotten. If Congress was subject to a merit system to determine raises, they’d owe US each $900 per year. I’m retired but if I had done such a pitiful quality of work I (and daresay, you) would have been fired. The big joke here is that any tax increases caused by the fiscal cliff are a mere pittance compared to what’s coming down the line to pay for Obamacare. Congress deserving a raise- I think not. The fact that the same people who blame George W. Bush for the economic woes of this country either can’t or won’t see that Barack Obama has racked up more debt in four years than all the previous presidents combined. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

          • Anonymous

    • Anonymous

We’re being held as hostages so that the Republican party can pay back it’s big donors for their contributions to the Romney campaign. The unbelievable thing is that there are poor people in this State who vote Republican because they think that guns and God are bigger priorities for the party than money. I think there is no better argument for the value of higher education.

In any event, I guess we’ll see how Maine’s working poor feel in a few days when their pay checks are lighter, so that Donald Trump’s isn’t.

      • Anonymous

Your guy is the champion of the poor Bangorian. Why can’t HE get it done? Time to hold Pres. Obama accoutable for a change. At what point will it EVER be his economy?

      • SemiRetired

Actually those that are responsible and self sufficient vote for republicans. Those that have their hand out and live off government vote democrat. Maine has more of one than the other. Can you guess which one?

        • Anonymous

I am responsible and self sufficient. Please do not associate me with the GOP. I vote Independent. Both major parties are responsible for this mess by pandering to big money and special interest groups. If you actually work for a living or own a small business, you do not have a single friend in Washington these days. Not one.

I can’t stand any more of Obama’s change, and the only hope I have is that after the coming adjustment, the socialist/liberal mindset will be altered to reflect what is actual reality.

      • Anonymous

The President has never been able to work with Congress ever. He doesn’t know how.

    • Anonymous

Did you expect the President to pass a new budget without the help of Congress/ It was predicted that Boner wouldn’t settle until after he was re-elected Speaker. If you really believe Obama is responsible for this mess, I got a bridge to sell! It is too bad that the few TPers left in Congress can try to hold the working people hostage. Apparently they are getting paid by a richer source than the voters.

      • Anonymous

There is plenty of blame to go around for BOTH sides. And yes, I do believe Obama is responsible for this mess. The left has had no problem on blaming Bush for the pass problems. Well now it’s Obama problem. The Dem. party is only following Obama lead. Reid is not action on his own, Obama is pulling the strings. Maybe Obama needs to spend a little more time leading and less time campaigning.

        • Anonymous

Time to pull your head out of your cheeks, Gramps. The senate just overwhelmingly passed a budget. Care to guess what the TPers will do with it in the House?

    • Rusjan

There was a deal on the table; if you remember, your not so “Speaker of the House” couldn’t get the votes……not from all of the house, rather, from his own party! He’s not a Speaker, he’s simply a tool. If you are going to blame the administration for this, then you damn well blame the House leadership. That’s where it all started, and where it needed to end. But Boehner couldn’t withstand the pressure within. Hopefully, this is a sign that competitive politics and partisan differences will be stymied for the better of the country, for once in a long time. You have no room to complain grumpy, your leaders are part of the problem, not the solution.

      • SemiRetired

I agree, republicans are part of the problem. I also believe that Obama has been a huge part of the problem. You do not lead by bad mouthing your opponent or trying to make them look silly in the eyes of American’s. Obama looks silly doing it but not to democrats who got him re-elected. He is no leader, he has no common sense, and he is a partisan democrat. Unfortunately we are stuck with him for 4 more years.

        • Rusjan

His leadership, isn’t what caused the breakdown in the House. You can throw all of the anti-Obama garbage you want, the ball was then, and is now in the hands of the House. We know all about that body’s leadership now don’t we. What looks silly is: a House Speaker who cannot even garner the votes he needs to pass a resolve, from his OWN party, that’s what’s silly about all of this.

The rich even said they should be paying higher taxes (does the rich author / supporter of higher taxes for the rich still reside in Maine?). Tea Party obstructionists have truly hurt both our nation and its people. I understand they proclaim adherence to John Locke’s philosophy of Libertarianism. However, I do not believe for a moment that most have a basic understanding of the philosophy or John Locke. I wish I could provide them with the opportunity to attend a Harvard University course on “Natural Rights and Giving Them Up”. Wait…………… I can……..

Sickening. Obama just issued another executive order for a Congressional pay raise. Funny, couldn’t find mention of it on CNN but it’s a headline on Fox. We suffer and pay raises handed out in Washington? Go figure.

Got to love how the socialist libbers always say “it’s our right” when they want to take from someone and receive what they take. I think it is only fair that they have their taxes raised too…back to the good old days rates just like they want JUST the rich to pay. How the dmes hated the Bush tax cuts even for the little guy. Now they love them and want the little sheep to feel good that the evil rich got what was coming to them. You would think that these socialists would want to give Obama their money so he can give them more and have it so EVERYONE steps up to the plate and be “patriotic” as Biden put it. From the same guy who wouldn’t know what a charitable donation was. Come on sheep, how about YOU paying a little more too so we can give out more food stamps and save the planet.

What is the problem people? It is only $1.4 billion Same sex marriage is now legal in Maine. There is no need to worry. Who needs jobs? So whats the big deal about taxes. So what if Bath Iron works or any other military manufacturing company takes a hit? Simply keep sending grads from tech schools out of state. They will be fine. If we can’t build ships or anything else here they will still be built someplace else. Obama is endorsing same sex marriage in Illinois and giving amnesty to illegals. It will be ok. What more do you want from him? We are in a much better place with an increased debt ceiling. We are the United States of America and we have a credit card with no limit. Whats in your wallet?
With Hope and Change you can hope to have a little change left in your pocket when this is over.

We can debate and argue forever about this. Politicians love it because it takes the spotlight off them. Fact is, none of them give a hoot about any of us. Any tax increase on the wealthy is inflationary. Most wealthy people have the means to offset the tax increase. I’m sorry you think I am greedy. Take the financial risk I take every year and you’ll feel different. My employees would disagree with you also.

maineiac123, how much taxes do you pay?? Time to get rid of the earned income credit. Why would they name it “earned”

        • maineiac123

How much taxes I pay is none of your business but let me say that I pay a far smaller per cent in FICA taxes on my income than you most likely do.

Everything is called the exact opposite of what it is.

    • Anonymous

I don’t use attorneys or accountants, and luckily for me I have been healthy. People who need attorneys and accountants should pay more.

      • What a socialist remark!

      • Anonymous

Sorry but everyone uses professional services, like your insurance company, your bank, etc.. etc.. and yes they will past the tax hike on to you.

    • Anonymous

When I was in Business I paid more taxes then most earned also.. yet p[eople forget the jobs that were produced, the Taxes and Fees, and insurances on every single thing used in the business sometimes twice or 3 times. The fed/state/local taxed and feed everything..
Good luck and thank you czylane for paying more than your share.

BDN: The fiscal cliff was AVOIDED… Income taxes raised to 39.6%, ONLY for those making over $450 k. per year… No changes to present rate for those making under $450 K… It was Signed in the Senate 89 to 8…!!! Bipartisan for sure…!!! BUT, So what, the tax rate will be 39.6% on the wealthiest Americans…??? They will never pay that rate… They have accountants and lawyers, offshore accounts, and investment income… For example: R$Money only gave the public his Highest year of tax returns, 13%… That year, he paid two to ten times what he normally did, and took a loss, just to give us a year of returns, so he could run for president…

I’m sure all of your democratic hero’s pay their fair share.

    • maineiac123

It hasn’t happened yet. The House also has to pass this legislation and there is no surety that it will.

    • Anonymous

Best check your sources again. The senate sent their version to the House. Nothing has been voted on in the House and nothing has been signed.
      Bad info.

  • Jonathan Smith

You cannot spend or tax your way to wealth. The last 5 years have been nothing but payoffs for votes – the reality is that America is close to financial default from reckless spending. You cannot have it both ways. Most Americans don’t vote and they certainly don’t actively engage their “representatives”. Obama was elected by those foolish enough to think that he wouldn’t touch them and those already hooked on welfare and so called “entitlements”. He doesn’t care about the poor – he cares about the poor that do no work – there is a difference. The end goal is to raise taxes and rapidly expand federal welfare programs. What better vehicle to do that then keeping people out of work and making them more dependent on government for everything. Extreme tax hikes would probably make more working people pull their heads out of the sand but too many live in an altered reality where government money is magically created. How many years since we have had a budget? It’s a
Democrat and Republican program they share – spending. We need some grown ups in office who can at least balance their checkbook and take things seriously. Obama and the Senate just pushed to give themselves a pay raise for crying out loud. As long as most Americans are content to stay fat and happy, nothing will ever change. No one wants to lead and make real decisions.

I was going to comment a bit further then realized this drival is really not worth commenting on.

  • maineiac123

Wow, the ultra right-wing is out in force today. Obama and the demorats must have done something right.

Listen to all the whiners and moaners! OMG! Although Congress and the President may all be complicit, WE are the real problem- we want everything and don’t want to pay for it. Everyone is paying LESS in taxes now than we did 30 years ago but all the old (and young) grumps are still unhappy. Whine, whine, moan.
Instead of crybabying about taxes, why not appreciate the fact that you were not on a snowmobile plunging into Rangeley Lake??

There sure is a different slant to the comments on days when the working man and women have a little time to post.

Smaller paychecks for Mainer’s bigger paychecks for them..Just think,We voted them in office so the joke is on us..!!

  • Anonymous

It means that Obama is bent on turning this nation into a third world rat-hole with no way out!

  • Anonymous

Smaller paychecks? lol. Whew! This is going to be a lot easier than they made it sound. We have been dealing with shrinking paychecks in Maine ever since they enacted “free” trade. We can handle this!

What a great plan 1$ in spending cuts for every 42$ in tax increases awesome. If this passes the house the generated taxes will run the fed gov’mint for 9 days ,9 freakin days yeah this is a great plan.A great plan for those who do not want to work and expect every thing to be handed to them a bad plan for those of us who have to go to work to pay for it.Oh yeah this on top of 1 trillion in new taxes being instituted this year to pay for Obama care. For the few who are out of work and actually want a job this is going to make it harder.49 % taking 51% making, I am starting to see the advantage of being one of the takers instead of one of the dumb%#^ makers.

Obama, by executive order, increased the salaries of Congresspeople and Federal employees. We have a true Nomenklatura where people who work outside the government have become serfs to the ruling class. Power to the people!

  • I want to throw out a big fat Thank you to all you jokers that voted for obama and installed more democrats in congress and the legislature! You voted for less money in your paycheck…In four short years we should look exactly like detroitistan!
You get what you vote for…ENJOY!

    • Anonymous

Yeah, we should have elected officials imposed on us. Screw voting, right?

Thank you sir may I have another!

Matt, I notice you use the photo from the president’s Dec. 31 speech, but make no comment on the content of the speech. It was the most arrogant “I am better than everyone else” speeches I have ever heard given at such a sensitive time in history. When a dog soils a carpet, rubbing his nose in it doesn’t correct the behavior. you lead him to the reward of making better choices, and that takes a leader. Congress is truly negligent at performing their duty to the Nation, but he has been nothing but a catalyst to their ineptness. You will see negative commentary from analysts on both sides to the content of his speech. I don’t agree with the Harvard professor who would eliminate the constitution, but I would support some of the amendments put forward by http://www.campaignconstitution.com.

Is this a joke? Come on folks. Demand better.

I dont know? Stop giving my tax dollars to israel? Stop the insane military spending? Bring the troops home? Etc. etc.

Federal workers can stand to not get a raise for a while they are paid very well for what they do. Most federal workers are unionized but are non bargaining so they take what they get. Someone will jump on this but just remember it is only generalization and not specific. This country needs to stop spending money they don’t have. Once that is realized things will get better. And one last thing is that All of our elected officials need to wake up and smell the coffee not just a handful. As far as the fiscal cliff is concerned remember “it ain’t over till the fat lady sings”

  • Marcia

Where’s the outrage for these people voting to give themselves a raise? Talk about a slap in the face to working Americans…just more proof these members of Congress are completely out of touch with who they represent. I, for one, will be calling my reps offices to express my disappointment…not that it’ll make much difference…our government needs an overhaul.

Seems like its time to put on the marching boots and head to DC!!

Make no mistake. Your vote means nothing. Your congressmen have been bought off by AIPAC and the rest of the special, interests. Frauds all.

    What’s left? Civil disobedience. Protest.

Or, just sit back and take it.

MSM actually had the very small article about it but not on page one. ditto for MSNBC and CNN. Media do Not rule.

  • William

Should’ve let us go over the cliff. Then maybe some of the low lives that sit on BDN all day commenting on articles would wake up and get a job.

Some of us have a job that requires the use of computers, so we can be here off and on all day. Not everyone works at McDs, Walmart or under some arrogant thumb.

Everyone paying their fair share will never happen.. The flat tax without exemptions or deductions is the only fair way to tax everyone.. All the freaks who claim that the poor and the middle class shouldn’t pay taxes because it isn’t fair need your heads examined.. 10% accross the board. Thats fair,
If you make 12K a year you pay $25 dollars a week,
if you make 120K a year you pay $250 dollars per week.
One Human is paying 10 times what the other Human ism paying , and yet some don’t want to pay and want the one paying 10 fold to pay more.. uneducated to believe 50% of the people shouldn’t pay taxes.

    • Anonymous

One’s income should not be taxed at all. Maybe a general sales tax for consumption of goods, but not a tax on labor. People do not “profit” by working. It is an exchange. Your toil for continually more worthless fiat currency. I would not be surprised if many sit down this year … no longer worth it to even try.

  • Anonymous

If the United Way was as wasteful as the U.S. government, I bet everybody would not have a problem holding back on their “donations”.

  • Hey…thanks for puting the @$$ obama back in office!

  • Anonymous

The little man who has a family has to suffer financially while the big guys can give themselves a raise … and consider they make much more than the avg person in Maine. I sense there’s something wrong with this picture. It’s not the country that needs help. it’s the people who are “trying” to run it.
