ORRINGTON – Douglas V. Bradford Jr., 62, died unexpectedly Dec. 30, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1950, in Bangor, the son of Douglas V. Sr. and Gladys L. (Hall) Bradford.
Douglas graduated from Hermon High School, class of 1969. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked 15 years for Freightliner of Maine, and he liked to repair lawn mowers, bicycles and cars. Douglas enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. He was a very loving husband and father.
In addition to his mother, Douglas is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda E. (Chase) Bradford; a daughter, Melissa Boyan and her husband, Nathan, of Bangor; a sister, Cynthia Bradford of Hampden; four brothers, Stephen Bradford and his wife, Linda, of New York, David Bradford and his wife, Cydnee, of Arizona, Thomas Bradford and his wife, Carlene, of Brewer and Michael Bradford and his wife, Pam, of Florida; several nieces and nephews; a special great-nephew, Riley Scripture; and a sister-in-law, Darlene Scripture and her husband, Larry, of Hermon. Douglas was predeceased by his father; a son, Mark Bradford; and a brother, Scott Bradford.
A service of remembrance will be held later in the spring.
