Carmella Ann Marie (St. Germain) Bates

BENEDICTA – Carmella Ann Marie (St. Germain) Bates, 73, died Dec. 30, 2012. She was born March 28, 1939, in Wallagrass, to Alphonse and Mary Jane St. Germain.

Cammy was a loving devoted wife, mom and grandmother, placing family first. Cooking and baking were her passion as well as gardening and climbing Katahdin. Christmas will never be the same without her coffee cake. She served as a school cook for 20 years in the Hampden school system where she was also president of the Union.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wesley Vane Bates; four children, Frederick Bates, Michelle Klam, Peter Bates and Erin Bates Letourneau; nine grandchildren, Cole Ford, Nicole Klam, Jessica Bates, Collin Bates, Joseph Klam, Alyssa Bates, Eliza, Anna and Isabelle Letourneau; a brother, Bertrand St. Germain; three sisters, Margorie Hall, Elizabeth Murphy and Caroline Cohen; many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Benedicta.
