WINTERPORT – Roderick Allen Randall, 74, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at home. Rod was born July 20, 1938.

Rod attended Winterport schools and graduated from Beal College, receiving a degree in business. Rod was extremely proud of his military service. Rod then worked at St. Regis paper mill and was a truck driver after returning home from his years of service in the Army. While serving in the Army, in Germany, Rod met Ellie – the love of his life, now having been married for 51 years to his sweetheart. Fishing and camping with Rick Witham, friends and family, as well as his dog Suzi, were some of the many highlights in his life. Rod also enjoyed woodworking and making bird houses for Ellie, as well as making projects for those that he loved.

Rod was predeceased by his parents, Linwood and Sarah Randall of Dixmont. Rod is survived by his wife, Ellie; and their four children, Allen Randall of Winterport, Sonya Olechnowski and her husband, Ben, of Virginia, Cindy White of Winterport and Julie Randall of Eddington. The joy in Rod’s life were his grandchildren, Katrina, Lynsey, Sequoia, Truman, Deanna, Lauren, Emily, Krysta and husband, Levi, and Kaylah; they were all the apple of Rod’s eye. Six great-grandchildren kept him young. Rod will be missed by many of his friends and family, too numerous to mention.

A memorial service celebrating Rod’s life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, with Pastor Pencil Boone officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit 1 p.m. until the time of service 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rod’s honor may be made to Winterport Volunteer Ambulance Service and Fire Department, attention: Phil Higgins, P.O.
