Pretty wordy article, but it must be tough to rehash the crime and sentences of three people to get around to the appeal of one of them. Could just simplify the whole deal, tho — “Hamel murdered two people, and then testified against two his co-defendants, is appealing because he got more time than they did — even tho they didn’t shoot anybody.” Oh, yep, now doesn’t that make as much sense as a straw hat on a duck? Send him a cryin’ towel and a law book.

Time for the Joint Felony Statute. Anybody involved with a murder — drove the car, helped plan it, supplied the Wild Turkey and a map — starts out looking at capitol murder and a no-parole life sentence. Plea bargain THAT.

Seems to be a parade of 20-something guys up the prison finally snapping out of it and discovering they’re not going home in this decade or the next. Well, fellas, this isn’t PS3 or Xbox, there’s no reset button — don’t do the crime if ya can’t do the time.

Hey guy, “Do the crime, Serve the time”! Maybe, the guys you killed might let you off…
