    Bring back Cindy!

it sure wouldnt be any worse would it???

With all due respect, Cindy, I believe, didn’t recruit from Europe, for whatever reasons, where her successor has. So ironic that the rest of the UME undergraduate body is seeking international students, in part because they’d pay outside tuition and, more important, help diversify the heavily homogenous student body, while the women’s and men’s basketball coaches get to recruit internationally. Cindy must be enjoying her successor’s big successes. Yes, she wasn’t a great coach, but her legacy to UMaine surely dwarfs his. She’s surely a class act who deserves future coaching success.

9 freshman what do you expect, seriously? these players have alot of upside, they have more talent then most cindy players she ever recruited, they will get better. Also this schedule has been brutal, i don’t think a umaine program has ever had a tougher schedule then this woman’s team. This team will be good next season or season after. but cindy’s team were not good and they were not going anywhere. This guy had to recruit a whole new team, man some people.

cindy has tons of class she is far better of gone from up there, just a bunch of hicks up there.

dude this program has been rebuilt from scratch. There are 9 freshman on this team, get a grip. Cindy had the program going nowhere but downhill. This team will be good eventually, just not this year.

make excuses for Barron all you want, blodgett came to maine she had a totally dead program as well

  • Ouch

ouch is right…..wouldnt waste my time watching them play

yea will you say that next year when they are winning? so many cindy lovers on here who were happy finishing last in the conference. This team will struggle with 9 freshman who are used to international style of play, they will win and be better, patience. if you thought this team would be good this year then you all were in for a rude awakening. They havent even started league play yet.

54 point loss. This is what we have to show for UMAINE sports…This as well as the Men’s basketball, the Hockey team and every other big name sport at the University is embarassing. I imagine what other schools must thing when they see Maine on their schedules….We gotta travel all the way up there for them?? Really?? They University should fire Abbot now, and any coach that does not prove thier recruiting will make the teams more competitive…The fact that many of these so called athletes are from OUT of state and getting FULL boat Scholarships is truly disgusting when there are so many kids in state that cannot afford to go to college.

maybe he needs to find more international players u think???

    • Anonymous

how is it truly disgusting? The players that were good enough to play d1 ball in maine all left to go out of state before he had a chance to get any of them, and there werent many. I don’t think you realize the lack of athletic talent in maine? So what we should do is give d1 scholarships to d3 caliber players like cindy did?

Normally if a product is bad, it will go OUT of business, but that is not the case with Maine Athletics, we just keep throwing money at them while this is the outcome of what they give us…that is what is truly disgusting!!!

Why would any recruit want to come play with “fans” like you?

      • Anonymous

I used to be a HUGE fan when Cindy played and when Palombo McCallie coached and they actually recruited decent talent…what they put on the floor now is an embarassment..I would love to see some of the top HIGH SCHool teams take them on to show you how truly dreadful these teams are.

Sound familiar? Here we go again!

What? I did not know UMO had an athletic program. A waste of time if you ask me.

  • Very poor results; Coach Barron will need help to get this turned around…

“This is a terrific program. Give them a lot of credit,” coach Richard Barron told the Black Bear Sports Network. “They’re talented, they’re good.”

Coach…JM was 4-6 before this game. If THAT is what you feel is “terrific”, Maine’s program is in REAL trouble!
