So glad that a few City Council members continue to wage war on the poor and addicted in Bangor. Don’t bother with the slumlords, some of whom are well-known in town. Let’s instead waste our time banning things that are already illegal from public spaces, especially in area’s where poor people live.

Where do you suppose the poor will live after you crack down on these “slumlords?”

My guess he is hoping for Waterville or Portland because outer Essex will be off limits. Maybe his neighborhood is getting boring and he hopes the will migrate over to the tree streets, the good ends.

Are not the drugs that are the target of this “drug free zone” already illegal?? This effort will not do one thing to lessen any drug activity already happening in these areas…..IMHO…..Crazy…..

I love the comparison to the “no peeing zone” in public pools! lol. I suppose the money spent on “drug free zone” signs will give someone a warm fuzzy when they are drinking their hot cocoa and looking out over the parks. Now if we could just get the junkies to read them before they shoot up.

Cops should focus on the play ground parking lot on 13th street. Lots going on there. Have complained, cops never get out of there car. Just drive through. I asked one of the dealers why they take a chance dealing there? He replied, because the cops never check us. (Followed by a smirky laugh).
