TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Elizabeth Ann Cole, 82, a beloved mother and nana, went to be with our Lord, Dec. 21, 2012. Betty was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Brewer, to Evelyn and Donald Cole.
She grew up in Brewer and attended Brewer High School. After raising her children in Orrington while working as an licensed practical nurse, Betty returned to school and earned her registered nursing degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing. She worked in nursing homes and later traveled as a private duty nurse, making many lifelong friends. After retiring, Betty moved to Florida to be closer to her daughters. She was active in civic endeavors in Titusville, Fla., and was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Betty was recognized for her 20 years of volunteer service with Hospice of St. Francis for her compassionate care of patients and families in their time of need. They gave the same wonderful care to Betty and her children during her recent struggle.
Betty is survived by her beloved siblings: brother, Donald Cole and sister, Barbara Rowe; daughters, Patty LaForge Brewer and Michelle LaForge Fiske; grandchildren, Shelbey and Jonathan (Amanda) Fiske; great-grandchildren, Roxy and Ryder; many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins; and furry grandchild, Emma. Betty will be remembered for her sense of humor, love of family and generous spirit.
The family will celebrate her life in Maine this summer as she wished. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice of St. Francis, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780 or at email@example.com.
