LINCOLN – LeRoy Tilton, 71, passed away quietly in his sleep, Dec. 24, 2012, at home on West Broadway, Lincoln. He was born March 17, 1941, in Lincoln, the son of Clara H. (Lindquist) Tilton and the late Raymond L. Tilton.
Living in Lincoln most of his life, he had many friends. He worked as a taxi driver, at the old tannery in Howland, in the Lincoln mill, as a fire ranger on Mount Chase in Patten, at Lloyd’s Store, and as a janitor for many years for MSAD No. 67. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He was predeceased by his soul mate, Kyma D. (Marshall) Tilton; his father, Raymond; and a son-in-law, Eugene Powers Sr. Being the center of his family, he shall be greatly missed by his mother, Clara H. Tilton; and by his children, Elizabeth Star Powers, Margaret “Peggy” (Inzerma) Smith and her husband, Brian, Toby Inzerma and his wife, Elizabeth (Philbrook); five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends; and his beloved dog and side kick, Lil Abner.
Friends may call 2-3 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Tony Stewart officiating.
