DIXMONT – James Paul Boone, 57, passed away Dec. 18, 2012, at home, after a long illness. He was born Jan. 31, 1955, in Hartland, son of the Rev. E. John and Lois (Huntley) Boone.
James graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in political science and received his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in 1981. He practiced law in the Biddeford/Saco area for a number of years before retiring to Dixmont.
James was predeceased by the love of his life for 29 years, Jacqueline (Ouellette) Boone, in 2005; and his father in 1996. He is survived by his mother, Lois of Bangor; and daughter, Deborah A. Caron and husband, Edward, and grandson, Justin, of Merritt Island, Fla. He is also survived by five siblings, John and wife, Elsie, of Glenburn, Peter and wife, Joan, of Houston, Timothy and wife, Brenda, of Dixmont, Jane Sturk and husband, Dale, and Marilyn Stevens and husband, Leonard, of Oakland; numerous nephews and nieces. He will also be remembered by his very special caregiver for the past five years, Carol Reinfelds.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Jan. 5, 2013, at East Dixmont Community Church, 34 Church Hill Road, Dixmont. Arrangements by Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, Hampden.
