    Fines will send a message.
As well as forfeiture of licenses and boat.
This was not just one isolated “ooops” incident.
Father and son had planned it all out.

Just kinda wondering why it’s just now made the news? Really surprised this is the first i heard of it considering i know both of them.

“More than 400 of the illegal lobsters were discovered during a Nov. 21 inspection, by Marine Patrol Specialist Matthew Talbot and Marine Patrol Officer Wesley Dean, of Curtis’ vessel North Star.”

Greed. I would like to have seen their faces when they were approached by the Matine Patrol. Hope they had Depends on.

“Considering suspension” ?????? Any thing less then a lifetime ban is no justice for the entire industry! Its time people are held accountable !

I agree. If they had three or four undersized or berried, then I say give ’em a fine and hope it drives home the point to check their lobsters closer. This was pure greed with no regard for the lobster stocks or any other fisherman. A blatant violation like this calls for more than the standard 3 year loss of license.

Hang em high! I hope some weak judge doesn’t give them a $50 fine & set them free. Take their boat & all they have. Maine needs the $$$!
