    Sure, now it starts. Bomb threats, attack threats, probably from those who want a longer vacation.

    As for the Mayan calendar hoax/paranoia, has anyone noticed that tomorrow is also the Winter Solstice? What more logical time to end a cycle than on a prominent astronomical event? In addition, the Mayan empire collapsed about a thousand years ago. This last cycle of theirs lasted some 300+ years. Anyone notice any inconsistencies in that?

    Happy solstice everyone, especially those of us near or at 45 deg. N latitude or more further north.

    Just when I begin to believe I am living in a more enlightened period of thought and reason, the dark ages re-emerge. Things are bad enough in the world today. We do not need fools rushing in with silly ideas.
