A player posting a triple-double, achieving double-figure totals in three different statistical categories, can be a rare feat. Having two people do it in the same game is even rarer.
The Van Buren girls neared the pinnacle of that feat Wednesday night when two who did it in the game were both Crusaders.
Junior guard Parise Rossignol scored 32 points in the Crusaders’ 71-30 win over Ashland and added 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
Sophomore guard Felisha Bouchard complemented Rossignol’s effort by posting 12 points, 11 rebounds and 11 blocked shots.
Tight race shaping up in ‘A’
Just two games into the season for most teams, the race for Eastern Maine Class A girls basketball playoff spots looks like it will be close.
Only three teams remain unbeaten with Brewer, Mount Ararat of Topsham and Bangor all 2-0.
If both stay unbeaten for another week, Bangor and Brewer will put their streaks on the line Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. when they face off at the Brewer High gym.
