BANGOR – Susan E. Shields, 64, died Dec. 10, 2012, after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 26, 1948, in Mooers, N.Y., daughter of Foster and Elma (Allen) Peterkin.
She was loved and will be missed by many co-workers and clients at Northeast Occupational Exchange where she was a substance abuse counselor.
Susan leaves behind her husband, Frank Shields; stepdaughter, Angel Ginn and husband, Vance; stepson, Shaun Shields; granddaughter, Leah Chaimberlain; grandson, Billy Hobbs; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Worster and Addalyn Chamberlain. Susan will also be missed by sisters and brothers-in-laws, Hazel Langley, Robert and Alice White, Mervill and Debbie Shields, Merl and Violet Shields, and Royce and Winnifred Libby.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Grace Bartlett officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Bangor City Nursing Home, 107 Texas Ave., Bangor.
