Don’t re-open those windows, Mountain Lion… That pipeline hasn’t been used since, what? 1992? The right of way easement was given to the US government… to supply airplane fuel to the Loring AF Base… to DEFEND our country…. not for some yokel to make a zillion… If Frankfort can so “No” to turbines, Searsport to tanks… then I hope all the land owners along this pipeline say no to Bangor Natural Gas…

Cue the enviroterrorist, global warming, Chicken Little, American Taliban crying; “BUT WHAT ABOUT THE POLAR BEARS ? WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE POLAR BEARS?”.

    • Anonymous

The suggestion that people with liberal views are like a form of “American Taliban” is ridiculous that it makes it obvious that you know nothing about the Taliban at all, except that someone told you they’re ‘bad guys’. The Taliban is an ultra conservative religious group – it’s thinking is much more like yours then mine.

American Taliban in that they are against almost everything that has made this country great.

So I can assume you agree with the rest of the monikers?

        • Anonymous

          Nope.

Calling the taliban a conservative group is a misuse of the English language. They are religious extreimists that have nothing to do with conservative political beliefs. Egypt is proof of that. There they have Islamists as dictators now.

OK, try ultra-reactionary. They are religious extremists but on the reactionary/ultraconservative side of the spectrum.

Who needs to, you just did. Natural gas combustion is considerably less polluting than any other hydrocarbon fuel (or any fuel for that matter) for a number of reasons including less CO2 per pound and BTU.

    • Anonymous

Natural gas vehicle engines emit far less CO2 and smog producing combustion products that gasoline engines.

This is good for the polar bears.

      Buy a clue.

Sad that the CNG pump at the Metro garage Portland was never opened to the public. I recall that doing so was originally part of the plan but someone got all paranoid just before it went live. I suspect that since no one had any economic interest in selling CNG and the whole thing was paid for by a grant they just dropped it.

I was in Colorado years ago and spotted a couple of service stations with CNG pumps. It was a Marathon Oil experiment and was for fleet vehicles. Probably no longer in existence although you’d think with the boom in fracking gas that they’d bring it back.
