Gilman ‘Abe’ Tash

HOWLAND – Gilman “Abe” Tash, 81, husband of the late Arlene Tash, passed away Dec. 8, 2012 at a Howland health care facility. He was born March 2, 1931, in Winn, the son of Frank and Una (Lancaster) Tash.

Abe was a U S Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion. He worked for years for Diamond International.

He is survived by his only child, Tonja Tash; a sister, Betty Nason; and a brother, William “Tuffy” Tash and his wife, Donna; many nieces and nephews. He also leaves a special friend, Charlene Carey and her family, Kurt and Gloria Dalgren and Marilyn Voisine. In addition to his wife, Arlene; and his parents, Frank and Una; he was predeceased by a brother, Clifton Tash.

Vistation will be noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion. Interment will be in Howland Cemetery. There will be a gathering after the service at Lee-Graham American Legion Post.
