Clayton H. Dyer

GARLAND – Clayton H. Dyer, 62, died Dec. 6, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 30, 1950, in Dexter, a son of Clarence and Lucille (Wells) Dyer.
He left Dexter when he was 15. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War, was highly decorated, working with special operations, and later, as a recruiter for 10 years. He worked as a construction foreman in Connecticut before moving back to Maine in 1996, where he owned and operated a small farm in Garland. Clayton was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, one stepson, a daughter, two sisters and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, with the Rev. Paul Murray officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be after the funeral in the family lot at West Garland Cemetery.
