ELLSWORTH, Maine — A mother and daughter from Dedham accused of burglarizing a house in their hometown this fall are among 10 people indicted Thursday by a Hancock County grand jury.

Police were alerted about a suspect vehicle leaving a home in Dedham on the morning of Oct. 18 before Maine State Police stopped and detained Lorrie Gray, 52, and Lindsey Ames, 22, on Interstate 395 in Bangor. After being questioned by officers with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Gray and Ames both were arrested.

Ames was free on bail after allegedly breaking into another home in Dedham, police said at the time. Both also were issued summonses involving a third Dedham home burglary, police said.

Mother and daughter each were indicted by the grand jury Thursday on charges of burglary and theft in connection with the Oct. 18 incident, while Ames also was indicted on a charge of violating conditions of release. Ames also was indicted in two counts of theft by unauthorized taking stemming from an incident that occurred in Dedham on March 26 of this year.

Ames and Gray also each were indicted last month in Penobscot County on similar charges.

Also indicted Thursday was a Hancock man accused of assaulting his estranged wife Nov. 21 at a home in Penobscot. Michael Carter, 38, left the home after a family member called police and was tracked down and arrested later that day by police in Ellsworth.

Police have said that, five days earlier, Carter allegedly trespassed and terrorized his estranged wife at the same home. On Thursday, Carter was indicted on charges of criminal threatening and domestic violence assault in connection with the Nov. 21 incident, but not for anything related to the Nov. 16 incident.

Also indicted Thursday were:

Robert A. Coulombe, 18, Searsport, burglary, theft.

Carlos J. Garcia, 25, Stonington, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, improper attachment of plates.

Jeremy I. Kane, 25, Hancock, eluding an officer, operating a motor vehicle after suspension, criminal speed.

Danielle E. McGarr, 39, Mount Desert, unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, violating conditions of release.

Jason Pierce, 43, Hancock, criminal threatening, terrorizing.

Christina A. Richards (also known as Christina A. Chattley), 35, Ellsworth, criminal operating under the influence, operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Shane Seekins, 18, Frankfort, burglary, theft.
