“Crank” call??? How about “prank” call? A crank call is made using an old-timey phone — you know, the ones with a crank on the side. I guess modern civilization really is over if we’re going to be misusing the language. (Forgive me if I sound like a pranky old man. Er, cranky. Whatever. It doesn’t matter. What’s the use. Get off my lawn.)

Particularly given the gloating on the Radio Station’s website, the “apology” of both the on air personalities and the station smacks of “damn I’m sorry this backfired on us” rather than “I don’t know what the Hell we were thinking, this was so beyond the pale a five year-old would have known better, we’re willing to take our punishment without complaint.”
Further the Australian Communications and Media Authority already has this radio station on license “probation” for bullying a 14 year-old girl into admitting on air that she had been raped. Seemingly it is past time for their license to be pulled.
In reality there wasn’t an apology at all.

Pull the license, maybe even prosecute.

Why do they insist on driving on the wrong side of the road
