Senseless act. Too bad the person(s) won’t be caught.

    • who says they won’t be caught? it’s just a matter of time

How sad! Those responsible should have to pay restitution and also complete 8 hours of community service for each window they broke.

    • Anonymous

They deserve to repay much more than that…

My husband has something behind our kitchen door that the punks who do this would reaaallllyyy like if he sees them doing this. lolol He’ll be watching!

They must have footage from a hundred cameras to go through! You can’t get away with this nowadays!

Here is how i would investigate this crime

Go to WALMART. See if sales records can be pulled up for people who bought bbs and or bb guns on Sunday and Saturday. Talk to a clerk, see if they remember anyone. Then there are cameras, i presume, that can be reviewed and fast forwarded.. Perhaps there was only 1 or 2 transactions of BBS BB gins being sold.

That’s quite the assumption to think the guns had to be purchased so recently.

I remember one not too long ago event that was solved this way, maybe it’ll work this time too.

      • Anonymous

And there’s no reason to think that they were purchased at Walmart in either Bangor or Brewer. There’s lots of other sporting goods stores in the area, and they could’ve been obtained from a store in Orono, Old Town, Ellsworth, etc. Also consider that possibility that the items were not purchased recently.

        • Anonymous

          Possibly.
It seems often when these crimes get solved, spray painting crimes, and murders and where knives or rubbish bags were bought, often Walmart comes up as where the subject[s] bought the items for the crimes,

  • do these business not have security camera footage?

    • Anonymous

The vandals are on to them and painted them over before they did any other damage :)

      • how do you know that… what if the camera was high up on a building?

Actually the Bangor PD just reported that only 1 window was broken last night, the other broken windows are actually old breakages.

      Bangor Maine PD
The Criminal Investigations Division is currently assessing damage reported overnight in downtown Bangor consistent with BB/Pellet gun being shot through front windows.

At this time, it appears that most, if not all the damage that was found overnight was old, unreported damage.

Officer Baillargeon responded to Frati’s Pawn Shop on State Street to the report of an alarm at about 1030PM. The owner and officers looked around and did find BB/Pellet gun damage to one of the windows and the owner believed it to be new damage. Based on that information Officer Baillargeon noted similar damage to 14 other downtown businesses and reported it.

As of now, it appears that a criminal mischief spree did not occur last evening, although sporadic damage to downtown windows has happened in the past.

“Between 10:30 and 11 p.m. the Bangor Police Department took 17 complaints of glass windows being shot out with either a BB or pellet gun, according to a press release.”

        oh BDN, how inaccurate!

        • Bangahrang

          hahahahaha nice edit BDN!!!

    • Anonymous

so…..17 windows in one night, is still, admittedly, an exaggerated number. So they are reporting a bunch of windows broken, throughout, many nights? Rather than what was said to the BDN, they, want to make it sound worse? Perhaps they should concentrate on giving breathalizer exams to their employees rather than reporting “exaggerated” criminal mischief.

Does anyone find it interesting that the initial report of 17 windows was, by their own admission, “exaggerated”? If the authorities are going to report something, shouldn’t they be in the ball park? Sheesh!

Ballergeon also got a guy for speeding last week doing 31 over the limit, oh wait, maybe it was 13 over. Just small details. Lol. Rookies.

Does this mean I can put my shotgun back in the safe? Dang.
