CARIBOU, Maine — The state medical examiner’s office is still trying to determine the cause of death for a 29-year-old woman whose body was found at a local motel on Monday.

Sgt. Paul Vincent of the Caribou Police Department said Wednesday that investigators await the results of an autopsy to learn how Lindsay Adams died.

The investigation began after the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department was called to Riverside Motor Court on the Access Highway shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday.

First responders found the body inside one of the rooms.

Vincent said that Adams was using one of the rooms set aside for extended stays.

Officers investigated with the assistance of Maine State Police.
