ORONO, FRANKLIN AND LAMOINE – Keith E. Hutchins passed away Nov. 15, 2012, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 23, 1931, the son of Herbert and Myra (Robinson) Hutchins.
Keith graduated from Orono High, class of 1950 and attended Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, for one year. He married Beryl Jane Haverlock, July 20, 1951, and they were married for more than 61 years. Keith started out delivering milk for Sutton Farms and Grant’s Dairy. He later worked as a meat cutter at the original Bell’s Market in Great Works, Columbia Market and W.A. Bean and Sons, Bangor. He also had his own meat shops in Orono and Franklin, where he and his wife did custom meat cutting.
Survivors include his wife; son, Tim Hutchins and wife, Susan, of Orrington; daughter, Kim and husband, Lloyd Kelliher, of Alton; daughter, Louri Hutchins of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Amy Gersht of Randolph, Mass., Michele Hutchins of Belfast, Brent Hutchins of Orrington, Keith Kelliher of Ellsworth and Keisha Kelliher of Swan’s Island; one sister, Glenna Cornett of Orono. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother and five sisters.
Interment will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. A celebration of life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Hutchins Hide-away, Donnell Pond, Franklin, at the place he loved and enjoyed taking sunset boat rides with his wife.
