ST. DAVID – Robert H. Roy, 84, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at a Portland health care facility. He was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Madawaska, son of the late Adelard and Marie Rosalina (Fortin) Roy.
He worked for more than 25 years at Fraser Paper. Robert was a member of American Legion Post No. 147, Madawaska.
He is survived by his six children, Jane Tello and husband, John, of Purcellville, Va., Louise Dibenedetto and husband, Joseph, of Wakefield, Mass., Rose Marie Angell and husband, Glenn, of Whitefield, George Roy and wife, Judy, of Lisbon Falls, Denise Dubois and husband, Daniel, of Westbrook, and Andrew Roy and wife, Elizabeth, of South Berwick; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rachel (Albert) Roy; and nine siblings, Louis Phillippe, Gesele, Leo, Arthur, Norman, Corine, Pauline, Constance and Laurette.
Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Lajoie Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at St. David Church. Burial will be held later in the spring at the parish cemetery.
