BANGOR – Ralph A. Moore, 86, husband of Geraldine (Hurd) Moore, died Nov. 25, 2012 at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Ellsworth, the son of Edwin M. and Eleanor (Kincaid) Moore.
Ralph was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and was an active Boy Scout earning the Eagle Scout distinction. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and attended Middlebury College in Vermont. Ralph graduate from the University of Maine with a BS in forestry. He taught school in Trenton and Dedham for two years, worked for the U.S. Postal Service and worked as a special agent for AIG Insurance. Some of Ralph’s favorite pastimes were working with wood and restoring and riding vintage Polaris snowmobiles.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 60 years of Bangor; are one daughter, Jeri-Lynn Candage and friend, Craig Seip, of Brunswick; and one son, Edwin J. Moore and his wife, Teresa, of Orland; five grandchildren, Amber Joy and her husband, Thomas, of Ellsworth, Ashley Farrar and her husband, Andrew, of Hermon, Michael Schmidt of Orland, Chelsea Candage of Gorham and her fiance, Feargal Semple, of Ireland and Curran Candage of Gorham; two brothers-in-law, Richard Hurd and his wife, Mary Lou, and Robert Hurd and his wife, Nancy, all of Auburn; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Louise K. Moore.
Family and friends may call 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a service honoring his life will be held 3 p.m. as the visitation concludes, with the Rev.
