Ramona Rose Niles

BRADFORD – Ramona R. Niles, 84, wife of the late Eugene Leigh Niles, went to be with the Lord Nov. 24, 2012, at a Brewer nursing home. She was born Oct. 21, 1928, in Bradford, the daughter of Harry and Etta (Chadbourne) Stockwell.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, president of the Farm Bureau’s Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Singing Adeline’s. Along with her relationship to the Lord, teaching Sunday school and hosting the Good News Club in her home in Bradford was a very important part of her adult life. Ramona loved to sing, play the organ, guitar and yodel. She was known as a very articulate and crafty person, putting her talent to work at Twin City Florist, Brewer, for nine years.
She is survived by her children, Derryl Sr. and his wife, Lucretia, of Lincoln, Gerald and his wife, Linda, of Florida, Norman Sr. and his wife, Louise, of Edinburgh, Gary Sr. and his wife, Claudia, of Charleston, Mona-Jean Philbrick and her husband, Ernest, of Corinth and Jeffery Sr. and his wife, Marilyn Fay, also of Corinth; more than 100 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Geneva Sherman of Bradford.
Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday at Charleston Pentecostal Church. Burial services will be at William’s Cemetery, Bradford, with refreshments afterward at the church.
