GREENVILLE AND SCARBOROUGH – Pauline “Polly” Douglass, 87, died Nov. 23, 2012, at C.A. Dean Hospital, Greenville. She was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Calais, a daughter of Miles and Josephine (Curran) Frye.
Polly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting, photography, traveling and spending time with family at camp on Sebago Lake.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Neil R. Douglass; daughter, Donna (Douglass) Jucius; and brothers, Miles P. Frye and Edward G. Frye. She is survived by a son, Stephen and his wife, Jan, of Greenville; a brother, Don Frye and his wife, Elaine, of Albemarle, N.C.; brother-in-law, Leonard Douglass of Scarborough; son-in-law, Charles Jucius Jr. of Windsor; three grandchildren, Matthew Jucius and his wife, Annabella, of Acton, Mass., Tavia Douglass and her fiance, Mark Stuart, of Wilmington, N.C., and Eric Douglass of Scarborough; great-grandchildren, Neil and Ryan Jucius; many nieces and nephews. The family thanks Cindy, Denise, Doris, Peggy and Shelley for their exceptional care through the years. We also thank the staff at C.A. Dean Hospital for Polly’s wonderful care during her final days.
Friends and family are invited to stop by 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the family home, 261 Pine Point Road, Scarborough. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Blue Point Congregational Church, Scarborough. Burial will be after the service at Blue Point Cemetery.
