Load of paper rolls shifts, tips 18-wheeler on Odlin Road in Bangor

BANGOR, Maine — A section of Odlin Road was shut down briefly Wednesday evening while a wrecker righted an 18-wheeler that had tipped over, according to Bangor police Sgt. James Buckley.

The Pottle’s Transportation truck tipped after its load of heavy rolls of paper shifted in the trailer. The truck toppled onto its side and slid several feet off the road before coming to a rest, Buckley said. The driver was not injured in the crash, which happened near the Bangor-Hermon town line.

Because the truck was out of the roadway, the road remained open until the evening, when police stopped traffic so the 18-wheeler could be set back on its wheels. The accident scene was cleared around 6:50 p.m., according to Buckley.

No charges were filed in connection with the accident, he said.
