The great irony of it all is that the GOP could have used the health insurance debate as an opportunity to argue that health insurance is a personal matter that should not involve employers at all. It could have argued that in other developed countries, where individuals must purchase their own policies in a competitive marketplace, premiums tend to be far lower. It might thus have succeeded in relieving businesses of all sizes from the costly insurance burden. Instead, it was so determined to oppose anything resembling a “national” health insurance system that it wasted the opportunity have meaningful input into what could have been a more cost-effective solution benefiting businesses, consumers and taxpayers alike. The Democrats have come a long way since Nixon. The GOP, it seems, went in the opposite direction.

Does anyone know where I sign up to get my “free” health insurance? I need it so I can use my money to go buy a new 4-wheeler and a 75″ big screen and a boat and a camper and some beer.

What does the government need health/death panels.. Something is wrong with people thinking that they are going to get top of the line health care and it is going to be free.. No wonder the election went the way it did. uneducated

    • Glad you have your facts straight and are obviously well educated on the matter. :P
