VAN BUREN – Jimmy Franck, 87, died peacefully Nov. 20, 2012, at a Caribou hospital after a short illness. He was born May 14, 1925, in St. Agatha, son of James and Alma (Gagnon) Franck.
Jimmy enjoyed life to the fullest living at his beautiful place at Long Lake. He was a past member of Van Buren Town Council and Van Buren Lions Club, and member of American Legion Post No. 49, Van Buren and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Caribou. He established Jimmy’s Foods in the 1960s, and throughout the years built it into a wholesale food business, serving customers from Fort Kent to Lincoln. His latest and most endearing project was making a video of Van Buren history, with proceeds going to Abel Morneault Library, Van Buren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
He is survived by daughters, Arlene Beaulieu and husband, Harvey, of Van Buren and Debbie Marquis of Sanford; sons, Richard Franck and wife, Gilda, of Van Buren Cove at Long Lake and Danny Franck of Biddeford; seven grandchildren, Craig, Ryan, Justin, Shawn, Eric, Danielle and Jamie; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Mychal, Evan, Cyrus, Kameron, Corbin and MacKensie; and his sisters, Rochelle Chawner of Long Island, N.Y., Joan Bauer of California and Vivian Franck of South Portland. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irma Franck, in 1987; just recently, his second wife, Donna Franck, Sept. 14, 2012; a grandson, Nicholas, in 2003; brothers, Ronald and Donald Franck; and sisters, Velma, Charlotte and Rolande.
Relatives and friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
