SULLIVAN, Maine — Police are searching for a local man who has been reported missing by his wife.

According to Deputy Shane Campbell of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Herbert Hatch’s wife called police at midnight Wednesday, to report that she had not seen or heard from her husband for more than three days. Hatch, 66, left the house with clothes and medication at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, but “never returned,” Campbell wrote in a summary of the incident.

Other police agencies have been alerted that Hatch is missing and requested to keep an eye out for him. Campbell indicated that Hatch was driving his 2005 silver Chevrolet pickup truck with Maine Purple Heart license plate 4349 when he left home.

Campbell was not in the office early Wednesday so additional information was not immediately available.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone who may have information about Hatch’s location is asked to contact Campbell at the sheriff’s department at 667-7575.
