Bangor police urging drivers, shoppers to stay mellow on Black Friday

BANGOR, Maine — Consumers throughout the state will be enjoying Black Friday sales starting Friday, but with the holiday shopping comes traffic congestion.

Bangor police are advising people to remain under control in the expected long lines and traffic delays, according to Sgt. Paul Edwards.

Delays will be expected throughout the holiday shopping season, particularly around Stillwater Avenue in Bangor, and Edwards is advising motorists to play it safe.

Bangor police also will have extra traffic enforcement i to monitor crime and traffic violations, the sergeant said.
