BANGOR – Ima Brown, 96, passed peacefully Nov. 16, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Abbott Village, the daughter of Ariel W. and Susie E. (Buck) Brown.
Ima attended Bucksport Seminary, and graduated from Higgins Classical Institute, Perkins Institute for the Blind, and Au-burn School of Business. She was employed by Maine Department of Human Services and retired with more than 34 years of service. Ima resided at Ross Ma-nor in Bangor for the past several years, where she reigned over most of her attendants.
Ima is survived by her sister, Carolyn Foster of Damariscotta; her brother, Armour Brown and his wife, Loretta, of Ellsworth; nieces, Patricia Brennan, Sue Foster, Janice (Foster) Damick, Betsy Foster, Deidre Brown; nephews, Timothy Foster, Dean Brown, Robert, Michael, Bruce, Gary Brennan; and several grandnieces and grandnephews; cousin, Laurie; amongst many other and special friends, Ann Miller and Celia Waldo. In addition to her parents, Ima was predeceased by her sisters, Eleanor Brennan and Evelyn Goldberg.
