UNION, Maine — Police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old man found dead Monday morning in a car stopped in the middle of the road.
The cause of death of Brian Cramer of Union is not known, Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison said at about noon Monday. She said officers from her department found no signs of trauma on the victim.
The police were called shortly after 7 a.m. The vehicle was stopped in the driving lane of North Union Road.
The body was taken to a local funeral home and the state medical examiner’s office has been contacted to determine whether an autopsy will be required. The sheriff said she expected such an examination would be ordered because of the young age of the deceased.
The medical examiner’s office plans to do an autopsy Tuesday morning, a spokesman said Monday afternoon.
Union Ambulance responded and pronounced Cramer dead upon arrival, the sheriff said.
