WARREN, Maine — Glenn Aho will serve as the interim town manager starting Tuesday.

Aho was selected by the Board of Selectmen to fill in until the board can hire a replacement for retiring Town Manager Grant Watmough, according to Chairman Doug Pope.

Aho has served as municipal manager in Auburn and, previously, in Lincoln, Pope said.

Aho will work three to five days a week through Dec. 5 while he also takes a class at the University of Southern Maine. He then will work full time.

Aho, who will be paid $40 an hour, is not interested in the position permanently, according to the board chairman.

Watmough announced his resignation Aug. 23 after 17 years as the manager here. His last day on the job will be Friday, and The town’s website invites the public to stop by the town office and say goodbye.

The selectmen have contracted with the Maine Municipal Association to help with the search for a permanent manager.
