BANGOR, Maine — Hope House, which provides services to homeless people, has released its Winter Wish List of food, personal care, clothing and miscellaneous items the agency needs to make life easier for those in need:
Condiments: Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, margarine, cooking oil, garlic powder, seasonings, ground coffee and tea.
Personal care: Razors, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo and tissues.
Food: Stuffing mix, gravy mix, nuts, pickles, olives, crackers, cheese, biscuit mix, eggs, fresh or canned fruit, fresh or canned vegetables, breakfast cereals and desserts.
Clothing: Sock, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, sweatshirts, warm underwear for men and women.
Miscellaneous: Towels, twin sheets, pillowcases, blankets, pillows, washcloths, hand sanitizer, oven mitts and bus passes.
Those who wish to donate items may do so 7 a.m.-8 p.m. seven days a week at facility at 179 Indiana Ave., Bangor.
Another way to help, Hope House officials said, is to take part in the Adopt A Resident program by providing items for a person who has “graduated” from the shelter. For information, call Irene Leighton at 217-6713 to obtain a specific wish list of items.
