GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Ellis L. Pineo passed away Oct. 31, 2012. He was born Aug. 9, 1935, in Columbia Falls.
He attended Columbia Falls High School and graduated from Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, Portland. Ellis worked for General Electric in their jet engine research and development division in Cincinnati after graduation. He married Myrna L. Higgins, in June 1960, and the couple moved to Denver, where he worked for several different companies associated with the aircraft industry. In 1965 they moved to Vermont when he was hired at IBM at their semi-conductor manufacturing facility in Essex Junction. He retired from IBM in 1990 as a senior associate engineer. Immediately after retirement he and Myrna moved back to Grand Junction, Colo., as they loved the mountains. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and anything that allowed him to be outdoors in the mountains. He will be missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
Ellis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Myrna; three children, Brian and Val of Jeffersonville, Vt., Kimberly and Kevin Olsen, and Lora and Brent Waldman of Grand Junction, Colo.; as well as five grandchildren and one stepgrandchild.
A small private family gathering will be held to remember and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association Inc. at www.aarda.org.
