LAGRANGE AND HERMON – Ella Jean Brown, 87, died Nov. 5, 2012, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. She was born June 23, 1925, in Silver Ridge, daughter of Edwin G. and Bessie (Blank) Dunbar.
Ella was a graduate of Bangor High School. She was a loving homemaker and personal caregiver. Ella enjoyed baking for her family, teaching Sunday school and attending church.
Surviving are five children, Rose Drake of Bangor, Viola Emerson and her husband, Sonny, of Hermon, Douglas Morgan and his wife, Carrie, of Philadelphia, Pamela Nowell and her husband, Randy, of Hermon and Joseph Foss and his wife, Tammy, of LaGrange; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Elnora Lyford, Mildred Duprey, Margaret Welch, Leora Richardson and Joyce Goodwin; two brothers, Doug Dunbar and Waymouth Dunbar; several nieces and nephews. Ella was predeceased by three children, Millard Morgan Jr., David Morgan and Patricia Barnett; three sisters, Christine Long, Nome West and Iona Moulton; and two brothers, Hollis Dunbar and George Dunbar. The family thanks the caring staff at Maine Veterans Home.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Union Street, Hermon, with Pastor David Morrison officiating.
