BUCKSPORT, Maine — Voters here elected one incumbent and two challengers to three open seats on the Town Council. The six-way race left another incumbent just short of the votes needed to stay on the council.
Councilor David Kee was the biggest winner, scoring 1,549 votes. The other winners were former councilor Brian Leeman, who received 1,055 votes, and Glenn Findley with 1,045 votes.
Defeated were current Councilor Byron Vinton III, who lost to Findley by only 42 votes. Filling out the contest were Wendy White, with 779 votes, and Caleb Carter with 411.
Former councilor and barber Frank Dunbar was elected to a two-year council term in an unopposed race. He will complete the term of Jeff Robinson Sr., who died from lung cancer in July.
In a write-in only election to be Bucksport’s representative on the board of directors for Regional School Unit 25, Jennifer Tyne received 183 votes, enough to defeat Betty Jean Bachman, 20 votes, and Corey Bouton, 16 votes.
