good priest…shameful bishop…..protect pedophiles…throw the first stone when the bookeeping is shabby…Father Nadeau will probably leave the priesthood..very sad and shame on the diocese of portland…

You can’t be a Catholic.  This bishop is the best Maine has had in decades.  He is faithful to God and is deserving of support.  Please don’t make false accusations based on no merit.

I was a life long catholic until 4 years ago when it was clear they were protecting pedophiles..being almost 60, it was clear to me i could not be part of that institution anymore.  Malone is a slick politician and like our country just did today, people who lie and decieive prosper…

On another note, the sharp decline in church attendence, closing of churches everywhere, and huge shortage of priests speaks for itself.  It appears under Malone’s leadership, it has gotten much worse…

We all knew he was innocent…now lets get back to business & bring this wonderful priest back to our parish!

It said their was a lack of evidence and that the matter is not closed as far as the diocese is concerned.
“Although the attorney general has declined to initiate a criminal prosecution of Nadeau due to insufficient evidence, an internal financial audit of the parish and additional procedures performed by an external, independent CPA firm revealed a number of issues and a lack of compliance with diocesan policies, according to the release.”
How do you explain the lack of compliance with policies????

Best of luck Fr. Nadeau and I hope you are back with your parishioners as soon as possible. . Remember all it only takes one person to open an investigation and accusations are not always black and white. But if the AG finds no cause that says a lot about the merit of this accusation. Your devotion and caring of your parish is first and foremost. May your days forward be positive and may your conscience be clear. The parish in Fort Kent is lucky to have you and I hope your parish welcomes you back with open arms

I hope the Bishop and the Priest  resolve what now appears to be an internal matter.  I wonder who the 3rd party was that caused the intitiation of this investigation.  My guess is we’ll never know, but whoever it was had to be in a position of political power to convince the attorney general to launch an investigation.  I hope Father Nadeau returns to FK but after all of this I doubt that he will.  I’m sure he knows the 3rd party that accused him of embezzlement and would rather be elsewhere at this point.

Bill Randall may be educated but based on his rebuttal to HeistheOne appears on the surface to be an angry individual.
