BREWER – Bill “The Ice Cream Man” McLaughlin passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, surrounded by his loving family: wife, Cindy; and sons, Aaron and Ian, at home after a long battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 30, 1952, in Eastport, to Florence and Elwood McLaughlin.

He will be sadly missed by Loretta and Jim Verge, Glenda McCarron and Roger, Matt McLaughlin and family; his dog, Honey; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill earned the respect and love of many friends and colleagues, dazzling fans and the likes lighting up concert stages and filling venues all across Maine and the U.S. with pristine sound. He created After Dark Productions with his wife, Cindy; and later panning the spotlight onto the alias of “The Ice Cream Man” as he was known for the last 20 years. He loved driving the ice cream truck and bringing smiles to people. He coached soccer and basketball for several years when his boys were younger.

There will be a gathering of friends and family noon Sunday, Nov. 4, at his home.
