PORTLAND – Carole Oliphant passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, Portland. She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Dorothy and Wilbur Chadeayne.
She moved to Bangor, where she grew up and attended Bangor High School. Carole then moved to Washington, D.C., and became an independent draftsman for the Navy. Later she moved to Portland and became the chief draftsman at South Portland Engineering Shipyard. After the shipyard closed, she worked for Westbrook College until retiring in 1986.
Carole is survived by her loving daughters, Penny Parkhurst and Jean Oliphant; sister, Beverly Cameron; brother, William Chadeayne; many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Wilbur Chadeayne; and son, David Oliphant.
A private burial will be held in the family lot in Bangor.
