Leavitt student charged with terrorizing

By Sun Journal

TURNER, Maine — Maine State Police on Wednesday charged a 17-year-old male student at Leavitt Area High School with terrorizing.
The threats were made Tuesday morning and Monday night on the social media site Facebook toward staff and students at the school, police said. School officials contacted police who worked with school officials and the student’s parents on the investigation.
After the student was identified, he was interviewed and took full responsibility, police said. No other students are believed to be involved, police said.
The case will be turned over to the district attorney’s office and the juvenile court system.
