Anne Newell

CARIBOU – Anne Newell, 96, died Oct. 30, 2012 at Presque Isle. She was born in North Barre, Vt., the daughter of the late John and Eliza MacAuley.
Mrs. Newell was a longtime member of Caribou Unitarian Universalist Church and was a nurse at the former Loring Air Force Base for a number of years.
She is survived by her children, Judith Solman and her husband, Bob, of North Yarmouth, Larry Newell and his wife, Lena, and Elizabeth Maifield, all of Caribou; her grandchildren, Scott Solman and his wife, Kristi, Jeff Solman, Doug Solman, Chris Maifield, Jason Maifield and Brian Newell; five great-grandchildren, Nikki, Katie, Eliza, Ashley and Jordan Solman.
A celebration of Mrs. Newell’s life will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, from the Caribou Unitarian Universalist Church with the Rev. Maury Landry officiating. The time of service will be announced in a future edition of the Bangor Daily News by Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Newell may do so through the Caribou Unitarian Universalist Church Memorial Fund.
