Steuben’s Parritt wins annual Long John race at Unity Raceway

UNITY, Maine — Steuben’s Brenton Parritt captured the annual New England Auto Parts Long John 100 at Unity Raceway on Saturday afternoon.

Parritt pocketed $1,500 for the win.

The race had been rescheduled after being rained out two weekends ago.

Palmyra’s Ajay Picard was second, Ellsworth’s Andy Saunders was third and Waldoboro’s Will Collins wound up fourth in the 23-car field.

Sixty-seven race teams participated in five classes in the state’s final weekend of stock car racing.

Skowhegan’s Zach Audet captured the 50-lap Monsta Mini’s race ahead of Glenburn teenager Emma Libby. Calvin Rose Jr. and Donny Silva rounded out the top four.

Frankfort’s Bobby Seger Jr. won the 50-lap Wildcats feature with Harrington’s Andrew McLaughlin following him across the finish line. Chris King and Ryan Robinson completed the top four.

Waldoboro’s Ryan Ripley won the 35-lap Flyin’ Fours ahead of Jamie Heath, Cody Robbins and NathanTribbet . Stephen Perry, host of the Mainely Motorsports television show, captured the 20-lap Wheel of Fortune race..

Ed Fortier and Robert McDonald followed Perry across the finish line.
