CARIBOU – Carol Ann Cote, 71, died Oct. 28, 2012, at her home. An angel of earth is now an angel of heaven. She was born March 12, 1941, in Bridgewater, daughter of the late Mearl and Frances (McNinch) Delong.
Carol graduated from Bridgewater Classical Academy. Carol married Freeman Cote, Sept. 2, 1972, and they happily celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Mrs. Cote was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an amazing lady who never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. Her love for God and for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. Carol fought her nine-year battle with cancer with strength and grace. Mrs. Cote was a member of Family Christian Center, Presque Isle. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Freeman of Caribou; daughters, Tammy and husband, Carlos Gonzalez, of Perth Amboy, N.J., Lisa and husband, Rick Bailey, of Lexington, Ky., and April and husband, Simon Sandstrom, of Portland; sons, Vaughn Dyer and wife, Jan, of Lexington, Ky., and Danny Dyer of Frankfort, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, Erica, Mandy, Daniel, Drew, Dawn, Richelle, Christopher, Emily, Brooklyn and Lucy; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Shiela Barnes of Georgetown, Ky., Cynthia Tracy of Stockholm, and Barb Tapley and Fred of Blaine. She was predeceased by her son, Mearl “Louie” Cote, in 2003.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Family Christian Center with the Rev. Gail Bellamy and Carlos Gonzalez officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
