ROCKLAND, Maine — A 45-year-old Rockland man was issued a summons early Saturday morning after police say he drove drunk and crashed into trees.

Mark Kelly was issued the summons for operating under the influence following the crash that occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m., according to Rockland police.

Police say Kelly was driving east on Pleasant Street when he reached a curve, failed to turn and went off the road, drove onto a lawn, into a ditch and struck trees.

Kelly’s 2004 pickup truck was destroyed.

Kelly, the only occupant of the truck, was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport with minor injuries. He admitted to consuming alcohol and being impaired, according to the police report.
