PLYMOUTH – Teresa Mae Bubar died peacefully Oct. 18, 2012, at United Memorial Medical Center, Batavia, N.Y. She was formerly of Plymouth and had resided for the past four years in Buffalo/Batavia, N.Y. She was born March 26, 1963, in Pittsfield, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Jeanne (Langley) Bubar.
Teresa graduated from Nokomis Regional High School, class of 1981, and went on to D’Lor Beauty School, Brewer, graduating in 1982 with a degree in cosmetology. She worked as a beautician at Natural Look Beauty Salon, Newport. She was also employed in the deli at Bud’s Shop ‘n Save, Newport, for 16 years. For the past 12 years Teresa had been doing what she enjoyed most, working as a groom at many different racetracks with the horses she loved so much. She was a hard worker and well liked by all.
She is survived by her loving children, whom she loved so dearly: son, Sam S. Smith and daughter, Mae J. Smith; her companion of 26 years, Carl S. Smith, all of Buffalo/Batavia, N.Y.; brothers, Jimmy Fletcher of Plymouth, Kenny Bubar Jr. and wife, Lorie, of Bangor and Kevin Bubar and wife, Tricia, of Plymouth; sisters, Suzy Hamilton and husband, Robert, of Palmyra and Tori Bubar of Pittsfield; stepsister, Martha Knight of Pittsfield; stepmother, Janice Bubar of Pittsfield; aunts, Lois Trafton of Plymouth, Edith Partridge of Castleton, Vt., and Beverly Langley of Canaan; uncle, Verne Bubar and wife, Joyce, of Etna; a special lady, Mary Sanborn of Detroit; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Jeanne (Langley) Bubar; grandparents, Robert and Mae Corinne Langley and Sheldon and Nellie Bubar; and uncle, Robert Langley II.
At Teresa’s request, a private burial will be held in the family lot at Detroit Village Cemetery, Detroit.
