PLYMOUTH – Henry D. Godsoe, 79, died Oct. 25, 2012, at a Togus hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Passadumkeag, a son of Livingston and Noretta (Harris) Godsoe Sr.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and also served for four years in the U.S. Air Force. On April 28, 1956, he married Norma Buchanan. Henry was a self-employed finish carpenter and contractor. He enjoyed making and giving gifts, such as birdhouses and cribbage boards.
He is survived by a son, the Rev. Dr. Courtney and wife, Ester Godsoe, of the Philippines; three daughters, Coreen Sylvester and Pamela Godsoe, both of Carmel, and Bonny and husband, George London, of Troy; two brothers, Ronald and wife, Nancy Godsoe, of Newport and Lee and wife, Janet Godsoe, of East Newport; a sister, Sylvia Worthing of Howland; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Norma, Jan. 2, 2012.
Friends may call 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday with his son, the Rev. Dr. Courtney Godsoe officiating.
