David Lawrence Allen

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – David Lawrence Allen passed away Oct. 4, 2012, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was born in Hallowell, the son of Phyllis Allen-Park and the late Wilbur “Bill” O. Allen.

He loved his childhood days of camping, boating and antiquing. He attended schools in Hermon before joining the Navy, where he served on the USS John F. Kennedy. After his discharge from the Navy, he lived for a short time in Norfolk, Va., where he ran an antique shop. Moving to Brooklyn, N.Y., he became treasurer of the Fifth and Bergan Housing Development Corp., a position he held for a number of years. He also worked with Asian Conservation Laboratory Inc., a non-profit organization which restored works of Asian art.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Allen-Park of Hermon; one aunt, Dorothy Parker of Hampden; and several cousins.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, at a date to be determined.
