Comments for: GOP pounces after news of CIA cable on Libya raid

Posted Oct. 19, 2012, at 7:24 p.m.

WASHINGTON — Sensing a moment of political vulnerability on national security, Republicans pounced Friday on disclosures that President Barack Obama’s administration could have known early on that militants, not angry protesters, launched the attack on U.S. diplomats in Libya. Within 24 hours of the deadly attack, the CIA station chief …

They’re desperate. This has nothing to do with national security and everything to do with politics.

Uh huh!  The polls are saying otherwise!  But the discussion will be settled on November 6 after another bump on Monday!

You realize we don’t elect Presidents by popular vote, right?

        • Charles E. Tucker

Of course!  And the electoral college will more heavily weight the votes from states full of teeming tenements occupied by legions of the 47 percenters  –  which COULD leave the rural areas (such as Maine and the middle of the country) that are full of land-owning tax-paying hard-working citizens to weep and continue to carry the tax load and to support the 47 percenters!  Would that make you happy?  If it would, you are probably one of the 47 percenters!

Fortunately, that is not going to happen this time.  Obama, the worst president in my 50 year voting lifetime will be sent back to that place of paragon virtuosity Chicago!

A United States Embassy under attack by Al Qaeda has nothing
      to do with National Security?

Someday you need to stop smoking your breakfast.

Did you have to punctuate your non-point with a personal attack?

        • Charles E. Tucker

Actually I thought the post was a good one considering the context!

How do you take your breakfast – straight up or on the rocks?

      • Charles E. Tucker

        A good one!

  • Charles E. Tucker

This has everything to do with national security as practiced by the Obama administration.  The Obama administration’s weak, poorly directed and executed foreign policy has the USA perceived (today) as a paper tiger that can be attacked at will.  No matter what the action, the current administration will do whatever they feel is necessary to protect Obama’s chance at reelection!  Blaming the attack on a video (and ignoring the CIA on site report) rather than giving the public the real facts is entirely in keeping with Obama’s continuing to apologize for America!

The truth will come out next Monday night!

You’re spouting ridiculous FAKE-News/Rush Limpmind talking points and nothing more.  Obama’s policies have not only restored out world standing, they have taken out Bin Laden along with many other high level Al Qaeda operatives and have placed a set of very tough sanctions against Iran.  Your FAKE-News talking points are already stale and were always silly.

Clearly you are a true believer!  However, so were Jim Jones followers in Guyana – until they drank the cool aid!

There are still some of us who refuse to follow the “dear leader” OHB over the brink into the abyss even if he (and some of his followers – like you) do think he is the Messiah!

And a Romney administration would have had a better handle on the situation how?  Probably more prone to a knee-jerk reaction on conflicting information.

Well, Gopher 40 – this was also in today’s BDN editorial page, but I could not find it on the BDN website.  I did find it from the source.  Please read.   It just might enlighten you.

The Daily News, Bowling Green, Kentucky, on the U.S. consulate attack in
        Libya:
Just how damn stupid does the Obama Administration believe the American
        people are?
The answer is pretty damn stupid based on the highly implausible and absurd
fairy tale spouted for days by administration officials that the attack on our
consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was the spontaneous reaction to an obscure
        video.
White House spokesman Jay Carney and United Nations Ambassadors Susan Rice
were among the high administration officials who were parroting this party line
regarding a violent attack that took the life of U.S. Ambassador Christopher
        Stevens and three more Americans.
Americans, however, are a lot sharper than this administration gives them
credit for. Many citizens were not buying the Obama narrative from day one. It
seemed more than passing strange that this attack occurred on the anniversary of
9/11 and that the spontaneous mob was conveniently armed with automatic weapons
and grenade launchers and from all accounts were well organized.
These facts strongly suggested a coordinated terrorist attack to the man on
the street who was also hearing media reports that the president of Libya was
very adamant that this was not a spontaneous event related to the video.
Now we learn that our State Department has broken with the administration and
says it never believed the Benghazi attack was a film protest.
Good for the State Department. We commend them for not falling on its sword
to provide cover for the utter stupidity demonstrated by its administration.

Americans over a certain age remember the seizure of the U.S. embassy in Iran
during the presidency of Jimmy Carter.
That brings to mind a bumper sticker we saw that suggests that Obama’s
        presidency represents Carter’s second term.
It certainly appears in the aftermath of Benghazi that the sticker is on
        target

        • Charles E. Tucker

Good post!  It is definitely surprising that this appeared on the BDN editorial page!

      Yawn.

I completely agree with you.  Romney had it right.   The reports from various sources from the White House changes daily.  The media is protecting Obama.  Romney will do this country a great service by hammering Obama on Libyagate on Monday night.

You know that BHO is in trouble when the “mainstream” media starts making fun of him!

If Bush did this we would be screaming for his impeachment and rightfully so. This is disgusting and a disgrace that this pres has lied and done everything to hope this would pass in the night. For Biden to say they didn’t know things was as bad. In instances like this, the pres and vp should know IMMEDIATELY what is happening and taking place. If they don’t then they are incompetent and should resign. These people still can’t bring themselves to call the Fort Hood shootings as an act of terrorism. Yeah! Obama sure has brought world opinion of the U.S. right up there. Even other leaders laugh at him. Even Hugo who has the same values as Obama thinks he is a clown. Good old Candy Crowly tried her best to bail him out and blew it. But his loyal sheep think this is just a bump in the road and he has the worl loving us. The saying the “blind leading the blind” is so true with this pres.
